Mechanism of Action

The special blend in Co-Rosiflex of Collagen hydrolysate and Rosehip extract confers a unique multi-modal mechanism of action to the brand. Researchers of Finzelberg GmbH, a Martin Bauer Group Company, worked meticulously to discover this new and innovative blend (Patent application: WO2009 / 080778).
The special hydrolyzed collagen matrix used in Co-Rosiflex stimulates the biosynthesis of the Extra Cellular Matrix (ECM) of chondrocytes (type II Collagen and Proteoglycans) and thus enhances the production of cartilage tissue. This demonstrated effect is clinically proven.
The cartilage regenerative and protective effect could surprisingly be even improved upon when combined with the active extract from Rosehips. The regenerative effect could be increased by 40% by use of an experimentally defined ratio of 10 parts hydrolyzed collagen to 1 part Rosehip extract, which is present in Co-Rosiflex. Studies have also confirmed that this blend has inhibitory properties against Matrix Metalloproteinases (MMP1, MMP3), which are known to cause cartilage damage.
In addition, Co-Rosiflex shows a dose dependant anti-inflammatory response and analgesic action, which results from the inhibition of the release of inflammatory mediators, such as Interleukin 1ß (IL-1ß), Interleukin 6 (IL-6) and the Tumor Necrosis Factor alpha (TNF-α).
